Trump Tower in Chicago is Completed
Big Trump
Unless you’ve been living within an open-cast mine for the past 12 months, you may have noticed a man named Donald Trump occasionally making the headlines every few minutes. His controversial run for the presidency echoes his entire career as a businessman and celebrity. One of his many, oft boasted achievements occurred today in 2008 when The Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago was topped off.
At 1,389 feet (423 m) it became the world's highest residence above ground level and the the seventh-tallest building in the world (or possibly the sixth depending on how you measure it).As you might expect from a Trump construction, the building has made plenty of media appearances of its own. While it was still being built, it hosted a battle between Batman and The Joker in the 2008 film The Dark Knight and later went on to feature in that cinematic classic Transformers: Dark of the Moon. And the winner of the first season of the US Apprentice (hosted by Trump of course) got to oversee the building of the Tower as his prize. Perhaps he would make a decent Vice President?
