Joined by comedian Chris Daly, Al visits a modern day sugar plantation where he learns what life would have been like for slaves forced to work there. In each location, Al pairs up with a local comedian to explore the history of British colonial rule and its legacy. In India, Al is joined by Anuvab Pal; in Jamaica, by Chris Daley; in South Africa by Loyiso Gola; and in Australia, by Kevin Kropinyeri. Together – with local experts and historians - they find out about the origins of British rule, its impact upon each country and how its legacy continues to influence governance, culture, and attitudes.
